The exhibition is running in association with Selfridges, who has entered into the surreal spirit by asking designers such as John Galliano and Martin Margiela to put together window displays in homage to Dali, who dressed windows in the Thirties. The result is a must-see for all lovers of the offbeat.
Rather than the usual handbags, clothes and jewellery, the Oxford Street store’s windows now contain such oddities as naked mannequins in cages, an upside-down tailor’s dummy, chair and chandelier and a life-sized model of a horse with a lampshade on its head.
